Chapter 14

I left my mom’s house and sat in my car trying to gather my thoughts. Should I meet my father if no more than just to find out the truth? Was Eddie Salgado my brother? My anger was still getting the best of me as I felt my blood actually boiling inside of me.

“Fuck!” I yelled as loud as I could as I banged my fist on the steering wheel.

I needed to talk to someone, but who? And in the back of my mind, I kept thinking to my self, that’s incest Sean, incest niggah, you foul, you foul.

Suddenly I decided to pull my cell phone out of my pocket and call the only person I thought I could talk to. I noticed there were three voice messages but I ignored them and made my call. The phone rang several times and then went to voice mail. I didn’t leave a message, what would I say? Maybe I could just let things go as they are, besides, who has to know and who’s to say that Eddie is my brother?

“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” I kept yelling to no one in particular.

As I eventually calmed down, I grabbed my phone just to check my messages. The first one was from Eddie, the second was from Justin and the last call was from Mike, all telling me to meet them at the club, “Hippo,” on Eager Street by 11:00 p.m. I checked my watch and it was already close to midnight.
